Responsible Careers

The MBA Oath was ushered in by a group of Harvard MBAs as they graduated this year. This Oath, created to make up for the lack of apparent morality in MBA programs worldwide, details such promises as ‘safeguarding the interests of shareholders, co-workers, customers and the society in which we operate’ and ‘striving to create sustainable economic, social, and environmental prosperity worldwide.’ These are tall orders for one MBA grad. However, it is about time management trainees take on an oath of ethics similar to those that doctors agree to, since these are indeed the future leaders of our capitalist society.
